Director disqualification check
Search the official UK register of disqualified officers. See current and historical bans, disqualification reasons and end dates. Free, no sign-up.
Format the name as it appears on Companies House filings. Adding a year of birth narrows results when the name is common.
What counts as a disqualified director?
Under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986, a person can be banned from acting as a director — or from taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company — for between 2 and 15 years. Bans commonly follow insolvency misconduct, unfit behaviour, unpaid taxes or fraud. The register is public and maintained by Companies House.
How to use this result
A match on name alone is a red flag, not a conclusion. Confirm the date of birth, the address on file and the disqualification dates against the individual you're vetting. If in doubt, use the full company report to see every company the person has been associated with, or upgrade to Pro for automated director monitoring.
